Motocross Track

After years of planning and fundraising, the Swan Hills Dirt Riders were able to build their track. Since 1994, the Swan Hills Dirt Riders have hosted CMA (Canadian Motocross Association) sanctioned races a Western Canadian Amateur Nationals. The Dirtriders have kept up with the changing moto-cross programs in Alberta and are now sanctioned with the ADRA and CMRC .

President Todd Senner:  "We host an annual race to the delight of our local rider and riders in the surrounding area. We spent the first year building the sanctioned track, which is now one of the destinations on the ADRA race circuit in the province of Alberta. We have had as many as 400 riders from across B.C., Alberta and Saskatchewan take part in the race. Riders from ages 4 to 65 take part in the different classes of the race, and it's getting bigger every year. It is a great family atmosphere which is part of the attraction is the track. It's fairly demanding on the riders. But the track isn't just open one day a year - anyone can try their hand at it. Members of the association and their guests are allowed to ride the track on non-race days. We have a fee of $15 for a single day ride or we also have low membership fee that is affordable, $100.00 for a yearly family membership. All we ask is that you contact a member and let them know you will be here. Our contact list is posted at the clubhouse, or you can visit the ADRA website to gain further information."

The 2008 annual race saw the spectator numbers over 1700 people and the total registered riders was 433. The majority of the riders were from out of town.

The revenue from the memberships and day passes helps pay the insurance allowing open access. Random camping is available at the track during races.
