Swan Hills is the nearest settlement to the geographical centre of Alberta, with a population of 1,858. A mere 30 km outside of the town site, along Highway 33 is a short trail that leads to a cairn marking the center of Alberta.
New Landfill Hours
The landfill is now open on Tuesday and Saturday from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm
SPRING YARD MATERIAL PICK UP
Pick up of grass and Spring yard clean up items will take place the week of
May 14th to 18th Please call in to 333-4477 to register for pickup all items
must be placed on curb the day of pick up and be either in a bag or bundled
to allow for easy handling by staff. No items will be picked up unless it has been phoned in
and registered. Phone in one day in advance of when you wish pick up.
PLEASE MAKE SURE YOU USE COLORED OR CLEAR BAGS FOR
GRASS. DO NOT PUT GARBAGE IN WITH GRASS!!!

Dog Tags
2012 dog tags are available at the town office. Every Dog within the Town of Swan Hills must have affixed to it a Dog Licence. Please know that it helps us to identify your dog, should it be lost and decreases your fine.
Golden Triangle Trails open!
Snowmobilers now have an extra 350 kilometres of newly maintained and groomed trails to
explore!
The Golden Triangle Trails — which connect Whitecourt, Fox Creek and Swan Hills — were
completed and opened for sledders earlier this week. The Golden Triangle was once a hot
spot for snowmobilers but a fi re caused extensive tree downfall, too much for volunteers
from the snowmobile clubs to keep up with. view the press release
